Geo Week Keynote Announced: How Ready is the AEC Industry for Digitalization?

Putting AEC's digital revolution in the spotlight at Geo Week 2023

Portland, Maine, USA - January 3, 2023 - Organizers of Geo Week, the premier event that champions the coming together of geospatial technologies and the built world, have announced an opening keynote that will ask a key question that's been on the industry's mind: How Ready is the AEC Industry for Digitalization? The keynote will feature panelists from the National Institute of Building Sciences, Dodge Data and Analytics, Hensel Phelps, Foth, Skanska USA Building, and Bentley Systems. Geo Week will take place February 13-15, 2023, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

"The mandate for change and innovation in construction has never been stronger," said Lee Corkhill, Group Event Director at Diversified Communications, organizer of Geo Week. "The insights from our opening keynote will set the tone for other content throughout the conference, bringing up some of the key obstacles and opportunities for digitalization in construction, infrastructure projects, and more."
Panelists include:
Johnny Fortune, National Institute of Building Sciences
Greg Gidez, Hensel Phelps
Aaron Monzia, Foth
Claire Rutkowski, Bentley Systems
Danielle O'Connell, Skanska USA Building
Steve Jones, Dodge Data & Analytics (Moderator)
The value of creating more efficient digital workflows in architecture, engineering and construction is clear, and the role of adopting new technology and updating traditional processes has the potential to transform the design, construction and ownership of assets. This panel of experts will address how much progress the AEC industry has made in digitizing workflows, as well as discuss the outlook and attitudes of the industry towards these changes. The panel will share how they've seen their organizations define the value of the "digital revolution" through innovative techniques and technology, the changing demands they are seeing from their clients, and what the future of design and construction will look like in a more digitized world.
"There has never been a more exciting time to be in design and construction. We are literally reinventing the largest industry on earth every day" says Steve Jones from Dodge. "Each of these panelists is on the leading edge of driving that change, and this will be a great session."
Beyond the keynotes, Geo Week will feature extensive conference programming, vendor-delivered Product Previews, Exhibit Hall Theater presentations, workshops, networking events, and more. More than 175 organizations have confirmed booths on the Exhibit Hall Floor and more than 150 associations and media have signed on as event supporters.
Geo Week provides education, technology, and resources for professionals in industries including AEC, Asset & Facility Management, Disaster & Emergency Response, Earth Observation & Satellite Applications, Energy & Utilities, Infrastructure & Transportation, Land & Natural Resource Management, Mining & Aggregates, Surveying & Mapping, and Urban Planning & Smart Cities.
