Irrigation Association announces Industry Insights webinar series

The IA’s new webinar series covers today’s topics and trends in landscape and ag irrigation.

The Irrigation Association is excited to announce the start of its Industry Insights webinar series beginning in October and extending through April 2021. Industry Insights will feature two different webinar series: one focused on agriculture irrigation and the other focused on landscape irrigation and lighting.

Normally offered on-site during the Irrigation Show and Education Week, Industry Insights is where attendees go to learn about today's relevant topics. This new virtual Industry Insights is part of the IA's Education Week+ and will feature 60-minute sessions (presentation and Q&A), with landscape webinars held on Tuesdays and agriculture webinars on Thursdays. The 2020-2021 webinar series invites knowledgeable industry experts to present information about the latest trends and research, a best practice or a how-to.

"We are excited to offer this rich content to irrigation professionals in a creative new venue," said Mike Temple, LEED AP, CGIA, CIC, CID, CLIA, CLWM, IA technical program director. "This series features an impressive collection of experts who will be sharing their expertise on a broad range of landscape and ag topics. There is truly something of interest to every irrigation professional — from irrigating hemp to landscape irrigation design to avoiding lighting mistakes."

The full schedule and webinar descriptions of both the Industry Insights for Agriculture and Industry Insights for Landscape are provided at Webpages providing information about all of the ag and landscape presenters are also included on the site. Anyone can register for a webinar by selecting it from the online schedule.

"With the cancellation of the in-person 2020 Irrigation Show and Education Week in San Antonio, our desire is to continue to provide some of the important elements offered during the show," said Deborah Hamlin, CAE, FASAE, IA CEO. "Through Industry Insights we are able to give those in our industry the opportunity to keep up with the latest topics and trends through a safe and cost-efficient way."

The Industry Insights for Landscape is sponsored by Ewing Irrigation and Landscape Supply, and the Industry Insights for Agriculture is sponsored by Netafim and Valley Irrigation. For more information about this and other programs offered during Education Week+, go to

Dynatect Automated Machine Safety Roll-Up Doors

Dynatect Automated Machine Safety Roll-Up Doors

Need to increase safety? Are you using light curtains? Is space a concern? Dynatect's Gortite® VF Automated Machine Safety Door combines safety technology, speed, and a physical barrier to isolate hazardous operations. Use of a physical barrier with safety sensors can save up to 30 square feet of manufacturing space. Using the ANSI minimum safety distance formula, the Gortite® VF Door limits the depth penetration factor and average approach speed, allowing closer location of the safeguarding device. Unlike light curtains, which can't contain process hazards, an automated machine safety door can isolate common workplace debris. This physical barrier is designed to contain process driven hazards such as weld sparks, UV flash, and light debris. Thus, the operator can maintain closer proximity to the work area improving ergonomics and productivity.
