SWIIM System Launches SWIIM Certificationâ„¢ Program for Farmers as a Nod to Water Sustainability Efforts

-Crop-water budget accounting firm, SWIIM System, launches SWIIM Certificationâ„¢ for growers as a nod to water sustainability efforts-

Agricultural water accounting leader, SWIIM System, announces the launch of a new certification program designed to highlight farmers who have been committed to responsible water use on their agriculture operation. Over 80% of fresh water in the Western U.S. is devoted to growing the crops and livestock that we consume. When you see the SWIIM Certified™ logo on a field or product, consumers will know that it was grown with the upmost respect for our most precious resource, water.

The SWIIM Certified™ Water Balance Report gives growers an audited accounting of their water use, which allows them to be more efficient with their water allotment. Additionally, this also allows state agencies to have ability to monitor and enforce water conservation mandates.

"We are proud to recognize the agriculture professionals that have committed to growing quality food in a truly sustainable way," said Kevin France, CEO of SWIIM. "In today's world, there are a number of challenges that the modern farmer faces. Whether it be water & labor shortages or the impact of Covid-19 on supply chains, a grower that is dedicated to sustainable water use is one that is dedicated to the future."

Growers must be approved by SWIIM in order to post the certification on their products or in their marketing materials. Those who have signed on to the SWIIM certification program have already begun to see notable benefits such as increased yields and water savings.

"Certifying our water use shows our dedication and commitment to being good stewards of our most precious resource," said Sean Callens, of Callens Farms LLC.
