CropLife America Joins as Strategic Partner in Landmark, Farmer-Centric Ag Drone Study

Leading voice for crop protection aligns with Stratovation Group initiative to explore practical drone applications on the farm

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AgPR) May 13, 2025 - CropLife America, the national trade association representing pesticide manufacturers, formulators, and distributors, has joined a national research initiative to gather farmer insights about the use of agricultural drones. The effort will help deepen the understanding of farmer attitudes regarding drones and how they are specifically contributing to production, innovation and sustainability in agriculture.

The study - conducted by Stratovation Group - will explore how farmers perceive, adopt, and apply drone technologies for scouting, input application, and precision management, while identifying key roadblocks to broader adoption.

Backed by sponsors, the National Corn Growers Association, SweetWater Technologies and Agri Spray Drones, and additional strategic partners including the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA), The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), and D.C. Legislative and Regulatory Services, Inc. (DCLRS), the study will capture actionable insights that help align ag tech development with on-the-ground realities.

"Drones are more than just an emerging tool—they are central to the next phase of precision agriculture and pesticide application," said Alexandra Dunn, President and CEO of CropLife America. "Participating in this collaborative effort allows us to offer our pesticide policy and stewardship expertise to the conversations, while also deepening our understanding of growers perspectives. We all share the goal of advancing crop production and protection tools that use cutting-edge technology to produce abundant and healthy crops."

United for Farmer-Led Innovation

This research is distinguished by its emphasis on gathering direct input from farmers—across both row crop and specialty operations—who are making real-world decisions about drone use every season.

"When organizations like CropLife America step in as strategic partners, it signals that this research isn't just about technology—it's about responsibility, outcomes, and making sure farmers stay in the driver's seat," said Cam Camfield, CEO of Stratovation Group. "With the added expertise CropLife brings in policy, regulations and safety, this initiative will help discover all the ways farmers and ranchers integrate drones into their operations, today and tomorrow."

Sponsors of the study receive exclusive early access to the complete dataset—allowing them to translate farmer insights into practical strategies, shape advocacy efforts, and fine-tune product innovation pipelines. High-level findings will be released publicly later in 2025.

Join the Effort

Stratovation Group continues to welcome sponsors and partners who want to support the research and gain early insights into the evolving drone adoption landscape in agriculture.
