With 2030 recognized as a pivotal milestone for achieving meaningful climate impact, THRIVE continues its 10-year vision—initiated in 2020—to ignite innovation that fosters enduring and positive change within the agrifood sector.

Los Gatos, California — Feburary 10, 2025 - SVG Ventures|THRIVE is excited to announce the launch of its 2025 Global Impact Challenge, a worldwide call for pioneering startups focused on driving a sustainable future for food and agriculture. With 2030 recognized as a pivotal milestone for achieving meaningful climate impact, THRIVE continues its 10-year vision—initiated in 2020—to ignite innovation that fosters enduring and positive change within the agrifood sector.

The Global Impact Initiative, launched by THRIVE in 2020, unites startups, scale-ups, corporations, producers, investors, and other key stakeholders to catalyze innovation and deliver tangible outcomes in critical domains. This Initiative is sustained by three pillars:

1. Global Impact Challenge - A global search for leading startups and scale-ups.
2. Industry Roundtables - Exclusive gatherings to promote collaboration, synergy, and partnerships among corporate stakeholders.
3. Global Impact Summit - The annual cornerstone event bringing all participants together to share insights, forge alliances, and drive transformative solutions.

Building on these foundational pillars, the 2025 Global Impact Challenge targets six core themes critical to driving sustainability and addressing the most pressing challenges in the agrifood sector.

1. Regenerative Agriculture
2. Artificial Intelligence & Automation
3. Animal Health & Nutrition
4. Clean Energy & Climate Tech
5. Water & Waste Management
6. Post-Harvest & FoodTech

"As the climate crisis intensifies, the need for scalable, disruptive solutions in agrifood has never been more urgent," said John Hartnett, Founder & CEO of SVG Ventures|THRIVE. "Through our Global Impact Initiative, we are harnessing the collective power of entrepreneurs, corporations, and investors to drive transformative change and create lasting impact for future generations."

Eighteen finalists will be selected to pitch their innovative solutions to an audience of industry leaders including key summit sponsors such as ICL, BASF, Driscoll's, Kubota, Corteva, Krone, Kagome, NEC-X, FCC, UFA and Alberta Innovates at the THRIVE Global Impact Summit on October 29 & 30, in Santa Clara, California. The winning company will receive the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge Award in addition to investment from SVG Ventures up to $1m USD.

Last year's Summit welcomed 400+ attendees and featured 40+ speakers representing some of the world's largest and most influential corporations in the agrifood and technology industries.
