Hannover, 13 November 2023 - FieldView and xFarm Technologies have formed a global partnership to help farmers by enabling them to connect the dots on their farms more easily. FieldView is Bayer's leading digital farming platform, supporting farmers in managing their farms more efficiently, from planting to harvest, with insights from satellites and connected machinery and equipment; it has been adopted on more than 80 million hectares in 23 countries around the world. xFarm Technologies is a tech company helping the agri-food sector to go digital providing innovative tools to help farmers and stakeholders manage their businesses; xFarm Technologies supports the work of 300,000 farms belonging to more than 50 supply chains on 3 million hectares.

Technological fragmentation is a major problem in agriculture, which remains one of the least digitalized sectors in the world. In this context, the partnership between FieldView and xFarm Technologies aims to provide farmers with new solutions by integrating the two leading digital farming platforms, allowing farmers to benefit from the complementarity of the two systems.

By easily managing the connectivity between the two platforms and eliminating double entry of field data, farmers can now use the platforms to inform their decisions and better manage their farms. In addition, reporting will be more accurate and compliant with current EU regulations. The data transfer can be activated by users in any country where both platforms are marketed, and the pilot countries are Spain, Italy and France, where both FieldView and xFarm Technologies have had a significant presence for years.

Improved data management for more sustainable agriculture
The partnership focuses on connecting the two platforms, allowing users to share data between their FieldView and xFarm accounts. Farmers will be able to share field boundaries as well as planting, harvesting and other operational data. This will allow farmers to leverage complementary capabilities and eliminate duplicate data entry by using data from both platforms, to improve the effectiveness of their agronomic practices through FieldView and optimize their farm management through xFarm. In addition, farmers will remain in full control of their data by managing the connection as they see fit. The integration between the two platforms is made possible by xFarm Connect, a new interface that the tech company will present at Agritechnica, which allows farmers to manage all the interconnections in one place. This feature, also thanks to the connection with Fieldview, makes it easier for farmers to work and allows the entire agri-food supply chain to become better connected, leading to more sustainable production.

Christine Brunel-Ligneau, Digital EMEA Commercial Lead FieldView, provides more details on the partnership: "Farmers always face many challenges, but most risks can be overcome by making the right decision on the farm. Empowering them with the right tools is our active goal at this time, so every step we take to bring connectivity to a level that serves our customers is a success for us. We are excited about the partnership with xFarm Technologies as it is a solid demonstration of how technology can enhance data."

Pier Alberto Gobbo, Telematics Business Unit Manager, said: "We are very excited about this partnership. We believe that the integration between our platform and FieldView can make an important contribution to the digitalization of agriculture and make farms in Spain, France and Italy, which are located in some of the most exposed areas to climate change and energy shocks, even more efficient, innovative, and sustainable. The connectivity between xFarm and FieldView and the resulting data sharing will help the farmers who rely on us to face the challenges ahead with greater confidence. Agritechnica is the right place to showcase this important integration, and we look forward to presenting all its benefits to the visitors at this international exhibition."

The opportunities and details of the integration will be showcased at Agritechnica in Hannover, Germany, from November 12 to November 18. Stand C15 for FieldView and Stand A12 for xFarm Technologies are located in Hall 8.

X-Rail: reliability and resistance to environmental impurities

Rollon's X-Rail linear rails are a reliable solution in environments susceptible to impurities. Equipped with rolling elements with shaped and flat raceways, they are available in several versions: galvanized, nitrided or stainless-steel sheet metal. The latter version ensures total corrosion resistance, which is critical for hostile environments such as those found in vertical farming. Particularly innovative is the T + U configuration of the X-Rail linear rails, which can compensate for the parallelism errors of mounting surfaces. This simplifies installation and reduces costs.
