With this collaboration, Toro will bring this unique solution to growers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The partnership adds to Toro's growing range of crop monitoring, decision support, and automation solutions, meeting an increasing need for reliable and actionable information on crop water usage and plant health.
● Actionable information on irrigation demand via direct sensing of plant water uptake.
● Easy-to-read output in inches of water, delivered through a simple, concise dashboard.
● Hassle-free installation completed in minutes with basic tools.
● No need for sensor calibration or maintenance.
● Affordable technology with minimal hardware.
● Trusted results validated by leading agricultural research institutions.
Customers will also benefit from the integration of the Treetoscope solution into Toro's Tempus Ag automation system, which offers simple, easy-to-use irrigation management and control. By incorporating the features of the Treetoscope solution within the Tempus Ag platform, Toro will offer growers a seamless transition between decision, plan, and action.
"Toro Ag is excited to partner with Treetoscope and for the value that this solution will bring to our customers and our industry," said Neville Mody, General Manager, Toro Ag Americas. "Delivering simple, specific, and actionable information will make irrigation management tools more accessible to a wider range of growers. These tools empower our customers seeking to improve water use efficiency, protect and enhance yields, and manage input costs in the face of an increasing strain on resources."
The solution is timely as growers in several key crop-producing regions in North America face the effects of extreme multi-year droughts. The technology will be available for a selection of permanent crops such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios, wine grapes, table grapes, apples, pears, and citrus, with additional crops added as validation trials are completed.
"Treetoscope is eager to work alongside Toro, a global market leader, on its journey to provide farmers with cutting edge, actionable, and affordable decision supportive tools for irrigation optimization," said Dotan Eshet, CEO, Treetoscope Ltd. "The partnership with Toro will allow us to reach masses of farmers and provide them with the best plug and play, easy to use tools, helping them cope with the worsening water crisis."
Toro is actively preparing for a full commercial launch, with expected product availability in early 2023.
