Three driving forces behind ImpiloVest value chain

Supplying high-quality health products from source to shelf

In 2021, the global complementary and alternative medicine market was valued at USD 92.65 billion. The market is projected to reach over USD 411.4 billion, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18% by 2030. Although Europe continues to dominate this sector, the Middle East and Africa region is experiencing a greater demand for alternative medicine practitioners.

By extending access to high-quality health solutions from source to shelf, ImpiloVest, a complementary and alternative medicine company, is advancing awareness and African wellness to the global market. The company, which boasts a wealth of knowledge and expertise spanning 20 years, offers enhanced value chain solutions to the health and wellness market through a network that covers Africa, Europe, and the United States.

As a group with extensive scientific experience and knowledge, ImpiloVest saw a need to introduce alternative medicine solutions to the African market. The brand consists of three key divisions: Impilo Cultivation, Impilo Manufacturing, and Impilo Retail. These three entities contribute towards community empowerment and social upliftment.
Impilo Cultivation

"Using modern agriculture practices, extensive industry knowledge, and the most efficient cost providers' operating strategies, Impilo Cultivation produces market-trending products that are high in quality, yet affordable. In response to the central trends in the wellness industry, the brand's investment and management mission is to create and develop companies that meet market demands," says Paul Nunes, ImpiloVest's Business Development Director.

Medreleaf, which is based in Piketberg in the Western Cape, cultivates medicinal plants under optimal climate conditions using indoor, greenhouse and outdoor cultivation methods.

A few services and products offered by this division include genetic and DNA analysis, support services such as track and trace software, and extracted products, including cannabis, hemp, algae, fungi, and botanical plants. These services and products enable the growth and robustness of medicinal product supply to the market.

Impilo Manufacturing
Impilo Manufacturing only contracts with legitimate and fully licensed enterprises. Nunes delves deeper into this division: "Among the industries we serve are pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetic, food & beverage, and veterinary. We are at the forefront of product innovation and manufacturing due to our scientific expertise and strict quality standards. Testing is conducted in state-of-the-art laboratories using the most advanced testing methods."

Afriplex specialises in the development and manufacture of botanical extracts, complementary medicines, and food and beverage products. Products and services include functional ingredients such as cannabinoids, antioxidants, natural preservatives, flavour enhancers, and natural colours. Additionally, the division is responsible for the development and manufacturing of food and beverage products, and pharmaceuticals. Among the final product manufacturing services are supply chain management, production execution, and microfiltration.

Impilo Retail
Providing solutions to improve physical, mental, and social well-being is the primary focus of the retail division, says Nunes. Products and services include health supplements, e-commerce, route-to-market services, and medical service via the Releaf Cannabis Clinics Portal. "The health supplements range includes immune boosters to CBD, probiotics, and child-friendly supplements," he continues.
As a leader in Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAMs) pharmaceuticals, Releaf Pharmaceuticals is based in South Africa, and specialises in creating and sharing the best-in-class products and solutions that are scientifically-backed and meet SAHPRA's requirements.

According to Nunes, the brand is committed to transforming industries and positively impacting people's lives, communities, and the environment. "By focusing on innovation and technology, we can unlock opportunities and grow businesses throughout their value chains."

Innovative SWIR camera for UAV based spectral remote sensing

Allied Vision's compact and light weight Alvium SWIR (short wave infrared) cameras are the ideal choice to build cost-effective OEM systems used in embedded and machine vision applications. The cameras support a spectral range from 400 nm to 1700 nm at high quantum efficiencies. This allows to capture images in both the visible and SWIR spectra with a single camera and enables users to reduce overall system costs! Equipped with Sony's IMX990 and IMX991 SenSWIR InGaAs sensors, Alvium SWIR cameras deliver high image quality and frame rates. This makes them well suited for drones or handheld devices used in various industries such as, agriculture, mining, solar cell inspection or medical.
