Agricultural Robots Will Play in the Future of Farming

North America dominated the global agricultural robot industry and is anticipated to be the leading geography during forecast period owing to adoption of robots in combined agriculture fields.

Autonomous robot used in farming to help improve efficiency and reduce reliance on manual labor. The main area of application of robots in agriculture today is at the harvesting stage.

Fueled by the adoption of advanced technology in agriculture, adoption of modern agriculture and rise in population migration towards urban centers, the global agricultural robots industry is anticipated to gain traction during coming years. Though agricultural robots are deployed across select geographies globally, the demand for robots to accomplish tasks such as nursery planting, crop seeding, crop monitoring & analysis, fertilizing & irrigation, crop weeding & spraying, milking, and picking & harvesting is fueling the global agricultural robot industry growth.

The accuracy and precision of agricultural robots plays a crucial role for deployment in crop fields requiring delicacy in picking up or harvesting yields. With continual development and adoption of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the demand for agricultural robot is anticipated to ramp up during forecast period.

Latest Research:

The Robs4Crops project is to accelerate the shift towards the large-scale implementation of robotics and automation in European farming. With a € 7.9 million budget funded by the European Union, the project represents a high-tech revolution with tremendous potential impact on productivity, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Robs4Crops will address technical challenges by creating a robotic farming solution consisting of three elements: smart implements, autonomous vehicles, and the farming controller. Existing agricultural machinery and tractors will be upgraded so that, together with existing agricultural robots, they can function as parts of a robotic system. Development and testing will take place in practice, under real operating conditions, in four countries, and in close collaboration with stakeholders.

North America dominated the global agricultural robot industry and is anticipated to be the leading geography during forecast period owing to adoption of robots in combined agriculture fields. Moreover, increasing investment on research and development of advanced robotics is anticipated to fuel the growth of agriculture robots across the region.
