NEW UPDATE FOR PROAGRICA’S SIRRUS AGRONOMY MOBILE APP EXPANDS COLLABORATION FEATURES

Gives agronomists and growers a shared workflow from planning through to execution

Stillwater, Oklahoma - 2 April 2021: Proagrica, the largest tech and data business serving the global ag market, has released a new version of the Sirrus app for iOS. The latest functionality allows agronomists and farmers to work together to plan and execute in-season work and interpret the outcomes to create an ongoing, living record.

The Sirrus app currently allows agronomists to collect and manage data for soil sampling and scouting with or without wireless connectivity. It syncs this with the agX® platform to combine the information with in-season satellite imagery and allow agronomists to develop crop protection, fertilizer, planting, and tillage recommendations based on field-level data.
With the new Sirrus functionality, the app now supports the journey, for farmers and agronomists, from pre-season plans to completed work. The Sirrus team has added new data states around Planning, Work Orders, and Work Records so users can advance their in-field Activities through the data states throughout the season. Users can collaborate with their growers to create their Planned Activities, progress those Activities to Work Orders that need to be completed, and finally to Work Records that organize the history of their completed work.
The improvements also include substates for Recommendations - Drafts, Pending, and Accepted/Rejected.
Matt Waits, President, Ag Solutions at Proagrica says: "The app now goes beyond being a soil fertility and precision ag program management tool. It's becoming a collaborative workflow tool for farmers and agronomists.
"These new additions are going to introduce the ability to capture pre-season plans and do that in collaboration with a grower who's also using the app. They can then use those plans to drive work orders throughout the season as it comes time to execute on those plans, and then have a completed work record in the end."
"This can be accomplished by the plan living within the same solution that agronomists are using to create in-season recommendations and from which the grower is recording completed work."
The new version of the app also drives efficiencies for growers, who end the season with a completed work plan from planning to execution and completion.
Matt Waits concludes: "Our goal is to create a tool that brings the farmer and agronomist's plan to life so that it can be easily adjusted as things change throughout the season. This will help growers move away from paper spreadsheets to automated, digitized planning and workflows that allow stakeholders to work together and respond to risk at speed.
"The longer-term roadmap will see us integrate analytics into the Sirrus ecosystem to help growers recognise the performance of their operations. For example, helping growers to understand which seeds perform best on which fields and soil types, and how crop protection products affect the outcomes of yield. We are working on ways to visualise the data to help anyone identify potential issues before they become a bigger problem."
The Sirrus mobile app is free to download for Apple iPhone and iPad. For more information, please visit: https://proagrica.com/products/sirrus/
