Woodland, CA - October 8, 2025 - GOFAR, the Global Organization for Agricultural Robotics, together with Blue River Technology - a John Deere company - and the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), is excited to launch Innovation Day on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, as part of FIRA USA 2025. Widely recognized as the premier event for agricultural robotics and automation, FIRA USA 2025 will take place from October 21 to 23 in Woodland, California, bringing together innovators, researchers, growers, and industry leaders to showcase and explore the future of autonomous agriculture.
Launched in 2022, the Innovation Day spotlights pioneering advancements in agricultural robotics, fostering collaboration between industry professionals, researchers, and students. This year, Blue River Technology joins as the official sponsor, reinforcing the event's role as a bridge between research and industry and a hub for workforce development and education in ag robotics.
Spotlight on Ag Robotics Innovation
The agenda for Innovation Day emphasizes workforce development, and the vital link between research and industry. Highlights include:
• Opening Session: Chris Padwick, Director of Computer Vision & Machine Learning, Blue River Technology, and Gabriel Youtsey, Chief Innovation Officer, UC ANR.
• Technical Talks - "Building the Tech Stack for Agricultural Autonomy": Presentations by Adam Barlow (John Deere), Nic Fischer (Agtonomy), Adam Stager (Tric Robotics), Nathan Bivans (Fort Robotics), Jesaelen Moraes (Blue River Technology), David Silver (John Deere), and Gary Bradski (Bonsai Robotics).
Leading manufacturers will share how they build the technology stacks enabling autonomy, addressing challenges like Value-Added Services (VAS), and delivering value to farmers.
• Lightning Talks: Selected research projects from the recent Call for Abstracts including R&D projects from startups.
• Posters Session - Lunch & Learn: Interactive presentations of additional R&D projects in agricultural robotics.
