Desert Control and Oasis Date Initiate Large Yield-Focused Trial

The new trial follows successful outcomes observed in early 2025, when LNC was applied to more than 9,000 date trees at a California ranch operated by Oasis Date. That application demonstrated water conservation benefits, prompting further investigation into yield performance.

Sandnes, Norway, 27 August 2025 - Desert Control AS (DSRT) announces the initiation of a large-scale Yield Trial in Somerton, Arizona, in partnership with Oasis Date, a leading commercial grower of organic Medjool dates. The trial aims to advance crop yields and sustainable farming through the use of Liquid Natural Clay (LNC) technology.

The new trial follows successful outcomes observed in early 2025, when LNC was applied to more than 9,000 date trees at a California ranch operated by Oasis Date. That application demonstrated water conservation benefits, prompting further investigation into yield performance.

Key Highlights:
· Full-cycle study with comparative assessment of crop yield and resource efficiency for 1,000 LNC-treated date trees against untreated control trees.
· Comparison of two different treatment schedules, evaluating single-dose vs split-dose LNC applications
· Secondary assessments of water utilization, water use efficiency, and nutrient use efficiency to measure broader impacts on inputs and economic outcomes
· Validation and scientific collaboration with the University of Arizona to ensure independent data collection, transparency, and rigor
· Integration of LNC with proven best practices in commercial date farming, including monitoring of nutrient leaching, salinity risk, and soil health indicators

Trial Purpose and Objectives
The large-scale research project is designed to explore how different LNC strategies may be integrated with commercial farming practices to enhance soil water-holding capacity, nutrient retention, and long-term soil health. Researchers will track performance indicators such as soil chemistry, plant growth, crop yield, and fruit quality.
