ClearLeaf Closes $3.5 Million Financing Round to Bring Non-Toxic Pathogen Control to Global Markets

ClearLeaf seeks to transform agriculture by designing and commercializing innovative pre- and post-harvest crop protection solutions that increase farmer profits while protecting the environment and the health of consumers and farmers.

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica—May 20, 2025— ClearLeaf, a company with proven success in formulating non-toxic agricultural products to protect important crops, today announced that it has secured just over US$3.5 million in Seed Series funding led by Hawthorne Food Ventures (HFV), accompanied by a group of high-net-worth individuals, and M7 Ace NEO to expand its market reach to key target markets worldwide, including the United States.

ClearLeaf seeks to transform agriculture by designing and commercializing innovative pre- and post-harvest crop protection solutions that increase farmer profits while protecting the environment and the health of consumers and farmers.

ClearLeaf's flagship product, GotaBlanca, is one of the only non-toxic fungi-bactericides currently on the market anywhere in the world. It is broad-spectrum, does not cause microbial resistance, enhances plant growth, does not affect on-farm biological diversity, aligns with regenerative agriculture practices, and can be applied at any time in the growing cycle (off-season, budding, growth, fruiting, and up to the moment of harvest). GotaBlanca can also be used for the protection of post-harvest produce, to maintain freshness between the farm and the end consumer.

"We are delighted to welcome HFV and our other new investors to ClearLeaf. The strategic alignment and complementary skills and experience that HFV brings to the table make them ideal partners for this critical period of growth in our company," said Lawrence Pratt, President of ClearLeaf. We feel privileged to have them as our new partners", he added
"ClearLeaf's mission aligns perfectly with HFV's mandate of investing in startups that reduce food waste and promote human, environmental, and financial health," said Ida Posner, Founder & Managing Partner of Hawthorne Food Ventures. "ClearLeaf is poised to have a transformational impact, and we are proud to be their partners in this next stage of growth."
