How RTK works


With RTK technology, the precise position of the receiver is determined by a combination of satellite positioning received by the receiver itself and corrections to that position received from nearby "fixed base stations" or "mobile base stations." The base station calculates corrections several times per second by comparing its changing theoretical position (received in real time by the same satellite from which the receiver obtains its position) with its actual position (constant).
